People Are Fed Up With Facebook

Early adopters of Facebook are apparently tired of the direction Facebook has been going in. Long gone are the days when Facebook’s apps would keep their most active users online and busy for hours on Facebook alone.

According to data provided by 20bits, the number of active users has declined 27% since January, while the number of highly active users, has plummeted 47%. Does this mean that Facebook apps aren’t enough to keep it a close second to Myspace?

Microsoft apparently thinks that things are still good at Facebook, recently Microsoft gave Facebook $240 investment, blessing it with a $15 billion valuation and adding Zuckerberg to the list of top billionaires. And now right after Bill Gates told us Microsoft had no intention to acquire anymore companies, Microsoft has shown some interest in buying out Facebook.

The problem is that Facebook wouldn’t directly add to the value of Microsoft products, Yahoo would have improved the value of Microsoft’s Live search and advertising, but now that dead is gone and their may not be a company Microsoft can acquire to keep Yahoo and Google from dominating.
